Zambia's Economic Life

Development of Zambia's Agriculture Industry and Commerce

Zambia was known classified as low-middle income by World Bank because of their GDP which is growing 6% per annum. They have rapid population growth that's why the poverty rate is high, especially in the rural areas. They have food and income inequality and high malnutririon rates for children. Despite the negativities, the place itself has favorable climate for agricultural production. Their main crop is corn, followed by groundnuts, beans, sweet potato and etc. Zambia has potential to have broad-based economic growth but they must change their policies and focus on agricultural opportunities arising from the rising food demand, urban incomes, and the changing consumption patters.
